How to Clean a Patio

For those of you who own a home and have a patio, you no doubt have cleaned your patio on more than several occasions.

For new homeowners with a patio, here are some tips on how to best clean and maintain this outdoor haven.

1.         Take the furniture and move it to another part of your backyard.

3.         If you have a closed-in patio, that is, with a canopy or wooden structure; clean the canopy and the wooden structure from the top down.

Look for cobwebs or nests that are usually found in the top corners and remove them.

4.         Sweep all the dirt, leaves and/or other debris that has accumulated.  Place them in a trash bag.

5.         Now the fun part.  Hose down the entire patio.  Ensure you have proper drainage.

6.         Sweep away any residual debris after watering.

7.         Might as well clean the furniture, too!  Use a damp cloth and wipe down the table and chairs.

Check under the table to ensure there are no bugs or cobwebs.  If you have an umbrella attached to your furniture, open it and clean that as well.

8.         After the patio has fully dried, put back the furniture.

That’s all there is to it!
