How to Clean a Mirror

Mirrors: Sometimes they can be our best friend or our worst enemy.

Nonetheless, cleaning them is perhaps the easiest of all household tasks.

While utilizing such cleansing agents as Windex and other products has been the norm for many years, going “Green” has produced another alternative to cleaning mirrors – plain water.  It is user-friendly, safer, and healthier.

Believe it or not, there are many individuals who claim that their methods are just as effective.

Here are a few products they use: vinegar and water, rubbing alcohol, borax, ammonia, shaving cream, and other products that are harsh and not so eco-friendly.

The best way to clean a mirror is by using warm water.

1.         Start with a clean lint-free cloth and just go over the mirror once.

2.         Next, take another clean lint-free cloth and dip it in water.

3.         Clean the mirror in a circular motion.

4.         Try not to let the water seep into the frame of the mirror.

5.         Paint spots may be removed with very hot water. Do not use blades or scrapers of any kind.

Now you may think that water will not produce the same effect as other sprays and cleaners.  Give it a try!  If you are not happy with the result, try vinegar and water.

At least you will stay in the realm of “green” cleaning.
