How to Clean a Microwave

A microwave is an essential appliance for every household, given the fact we are all becoming more energy efficient.

Cleaning a microwave requires little effort, although maintaining it can reduce the number of times you do have to clean it.   

Some of the maintenance issues involve placing the microwave away from the wall to provide enough ventilation.  This will prevent the pressure of steam to exceed normal standards.    

When you place food items inside the microwave, ensure there are no particles remaining after the food has been cooked. Food particles create carbon, and the carbon can be the spark that creates a fire inside the microwave.  

To clean the microwave, take a cup of water and four teaspoons of lemon juice.  Place the mixture in a microwave container. Put the microwave on high, and keep the container in for five minutes.  

This method allows steam to condense on the walls and roof of the microwave. After five minutes, cleaning the inside of the microwave can commence using a cotton cloth.   

To ensure the microwave is well-maintained, utilize this routine after use, or at the very least, every other day (when used).
